BOOK: Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn
AUTHOR: Kris Radish
SUMMARY: Local author Kris Radish has done it again. Kris writes about women for women. Her wonderful sense of humor is combined with a story of infidelity. Radish has a flowing style that tells a story while making the reader laugh. She hooked me at the beginning with the line, " it can't be a robber. They'd have better luck stealing from the Goodwill store." Much like the author her main character, Meg, is traveling down her own path. This story is of one woman's journey from the darkest part of her life to a brand new life based on her desires not others expectations. This character driven novel takes Meg to new places with friends, old and new. Friendship and moving ahead are major themes in this novel. As with The Elegant Gathering of White Snows, this novel tells an uplifting, quirky tale of female friendship and the power to do. Radish uses the ending of this entertaining story to wrap up all of the loose ends leaving her main character older and definitely wiser.
PLOT: Meg Fratano comes home to find her husband of thirty years in bed with another woman, frosty pink geranium toenails and all. All she can do is watch…hidden of course. She realizes that her life will never be the same again. She sets out to reclaim the Meg she once was. She uses this dark episode in her life to make positive changes in her new life. A favorite aunt's influence takes her to a remote part of Mexico where she learns to give and to love. Her three compatriots help this protagonist navigate middle age. Changing her address, her career, and her focus liberate her and move her life forward.
